Information We Collect

Account Information

  • Name and email address
  • Password (securely hashed - we never store plain text passwords)
  • Profile photo (optional)
  • Phone number (optional, for notifications)

Family Information

  • Children's names and birthdates
  • Medical information (allergies, conditions) - only if you choose to add it
  • School and activity information
  • Emergency contacts

Co-Parenting Data

  • Custody schedules and calendar events
  • Messages between co-parents (processed through our Tone Assist feature)
  • Shared expenses and financial records
  • Decisions and voting history
  • Uploaded documents and photos

Usage Information

  • Device information and browser type
  • IP address and general location (country/region level)
  • App usage patterns and feature interactions
  • Error logs and performance data

Important: We only collect information about children through parent/guardian input. We never collect data directly from minors.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the co-parenting coordination service
  • To sync information between both parents in real-time
  • To send notifications about schedule changes, messages, and important updates
  • To calculate expense splits and generate financial reports
  • To power the Tone Assist feature (message analysis happens locally in your browser to help maintain constructive communication)
  • To fix bugs and improve our service
  • To respond to your support requests
  • To comply with legal obligations

How We Protect Your Data

Encryption in Transit

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is protected using TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption via HTTPS.

Secure Infrastructure

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure, which provides encryption at rest and complies with SOC 2 Type II standards.

Password Security

Passwords are securely hashed by our authentication provider. We never store or can view your actual password.

Row-Level Security

Your family data is protected by database-level security policies ensuring only linked co-parents can access shared information.

Access Controls

Our team does not access personal data unless required for support with your explicit consent.

Fair Access Guarantee

Both parents have equal access to all family information, including:

  • Custody schedules and calendar events
  • Children's profiles and information
  • All messages and communication history
  • Shared expenses and financial records
  • Decisions and voting history

No parent can be cut off from their family history. You can export all your family data at any time from Settings. If you are removed from a shared account, you will receive an automatic export of all shared family data.

Your Rights Under UK GDPR

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights:

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
  • Right to Rectification: Correct any inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data
  • Right to Data Portability: Export your data in a machine-readable format
  • Right to Object: Object to processing of your data in certain circumstances
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for processing at any time

Data Retention

Active Accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

Deleted Accounts: When you delete your account, your personal data is removed immediately. Shared family data may be retained for the other co-parent.

Backups: Data may persist in infrastructure backups managed by our hosting providers.

Legal Obligations: We may retain certain data longer if required by law (e.g., financial records for tax purposes).

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide our service:

  • Supabase: Database and authentication (EU servers)
  • RevenueCat: Subscription management
  • Vercel: Web hosting

These providers are bound by data processing agreements and must comply with GDPR requirements.

Cookies

We use essential cookies only to maintain your login session and remember your preferences. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

Children's Privacy

Pick Up is designed for use by parents and guardians (18 years and older). We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. All information about children is provided by their parents or guardians and is given additional protection.
